Terms of Service
Last updated: May 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TelePad mobile application (“TelePad”, “App”, “we”, “us”) provided by the developer of TelePad. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of the Service
TelePad is a software remote control that communicates with compatible smart TVs over your local Wi‑Fi network. The App does not require an infrared (IR) blaster. Features may include:
- Scanning for TVs on the same LAN (mDNS, SSDP, and related discovery methods)
- Remote control buttons (power, navigation, volume, home, back, menu, and similar)
- Touchpad / pointer-style control where supported by the TV
- On-screen keyboard text input sent to the TV where supported
- Launching installed apps on the TV where supported
- Casting photos and videos from your device to the TV on the local network (DLNA-style streaming from a temporary local server on your device)
- Saving TV connection profiles, language preference, and auto-reconnect settings on your device
Supported brands and protocols may include Android TV, Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), Roku, and Hisense, subject to TV model, firmware, and regional differences. We do not guarantee compatibility with every TV.
2. Requirements and Limitations
- Your phone or tablet and your TV must be connected to the same local network (typically the same Wi‑Fi).
- Some TVs require one-time pairing (PIN, on-screen approval, or a pairing token). You are responsible for completing pairing on your TV.
- Network features (multicast, local HTTP/WebSocket) may be blocked by guest Wi‑Fi, VPNs, AP isolation, or corporate firewalls.
- The App is not a replacement for your TV’s physical remote in emergencies (e.g. loss of network).
- Casting reads media you select from device storage; you must have the right to play that content.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App to control TVs you do not own or lack permission to operate
- Reverse engineer, interfere with, or abuse TV protocols beyond normal consumer remote use
- Use the App in violation of applicable law or third-party terms (including your TV manufacturer’s terms)
- Attempt to circumvent advertising or consent mechanisms where shown
4. Advertising
TelePad may display advertisements through Google AdMob (e.g. app open ads). Ad serving is subject to Google’s policies and your privacy choices (including consent forms shown in the App and, on iOS, App Tracking Transparency where applicable). Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your settings and region.
5. No Account; Local Data
TelePad does not require you to create an in-app account for core remote functionality. Saved devices and settings are stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated in the Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. TV brand names and logos belong to their respective owners. TelePad is not affiliated with or endorsed by TV manufacturers unless explicitly stated.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE OPERATION, OR THAT ANY TV WILL BE DISCOVERABLE OR CONTROLLABLE.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING MISSED TV COMMANDS, FAILED CASTING, OR DEVICE MISCONFIGURATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $10, IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
9. Changes and Termination
We may update the App or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence or the jurisdiction of the App publisher, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TelePad (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application (“App”). We designed TelePad so that TV control traffic stays on your local network between your device and your TV.
1. Summary
- TV remote commands are sent directly to your TV on your Wi‑Fi/LAN; we do not operate a cloud service that receives your button presses for remote control.
- Device settings (saved TVs, language, auto-reconnect) are stored on your device.
- Casting serves selected photos/videos from a short-lived local HTTP server on your phone/tablet to your TV on the same network; we do not upload your media to our servers for casting.
- Advertising uses Google AdMob, which may collect advertising identifiers and related data under its own policies and your consent choices.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Information stored on your device
Locally on your phone or tablet, the App may store:
- TV names, IP addresses, brand/type, and pairing tokens or keys needed to reconnect
- Language preference and auto-reconnect setting
- Other preferences required for App functionality
This data remains on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall the App.
2.2 Network and device information (functional)
To discover and control TVs, the App may use:
- Your device’s local IP address on Wi‑Fi
- Network state (Wi‑Fi connected or not)
- Multicast/SSDP discovery on the LAN
- Direct connections (HTTP, WebSocket, TLS where required by the TV) to TVs you select
On Android, location permission may be requested because some Android versions require it for reliable Wi‑Fi scanning and mDNS discovery. We do not use it to track your physical movements for remote control; it enables LAN discovery as permitted by the operating system.
2.3 Media you choose for casting
If you use Cast, you select photos or videos from your device. The App reads those files to stream them to your TV over the local network. We do not copy your library to our servers for this feature.
2.4 Advertising and consent (Google AdMob)
The App integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google and its partners may collect or receive:
- Advertising ID (e.g. GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking)
- Device type, OS version, language, and general location derived from IP
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- Consent status from the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) where shown
On iOS, you may see App Tracking Transparency in addition to UMP, depending on configuration. If you deny tracking, ads may still be shown in a non-personalized form where permitted.
Learn more: Google Privacy Policy, AdMob & your data.
Where required (e.g. EEA, UK), the App may show a consent form to manage ad personalization. You can change choices when the App offers a privacy or ads settings entry as required by your region.
3. What We Do Not Collect for Core Remote Use
For standard remote, touchpad, app launcher, and keyboard features, we do not require you to register an account, and we do not intentionally collect your TV viewing history on our servers. Command content is exchanged between your device and your TV on the LAN.
4. Permissions (mobile platforms)
| Permission / access | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet | Local/LAN and ad SDK communication |
| Wi‑Fi / network state | Discovery and connectivity checks |
| Multicast / local network | Finding TVs on your LAN |
| Location (Android) | Wi‑Fi scan / mDNS as required by OS |
| Photos / videos (read) | Casting media you select |
| Local network (iOS) | Discovering and controlling TVs on your LAN |
5. Sharing of Information
We may share information only in these situations:
- Advertising partners: Google AdMob and related ad technology as described above
- Legal: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or security
- Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required
We do not sell your personal information for money in the conventional sense; ad tech may use identifiers for ad delivery as described.
6. Retention
- On-device TV profiles and settings persist until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Casting streams exist only while you are actively casting from the local server on your device.
- Ad partners retain data according to their own retention policies.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to a local-network utility app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Keep your Wi‑Fi network secured and only pair with TVs you trust.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us.
9. International users and your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, delete, or object to certain processing. For AdMob-related data, use in-app consent tools and device advertising settings (e.g. “Limit Ad Tracking” / “Opt out of Ads Personalization”). For requests regarding data we control directly, email us at the address below.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
